Scandoval: 7 Seasons in the Making

     I first started watching Vanderpump Rules during Season 3. I started watching, because I was a huge fan of Lisa Vanderpump. She was my favorite housewife on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I wanted to try the show to see what the restaurant looked like. 7 seasons later and I'm still watching. The season that I started with was when Tom Sandoval and Kristen Doute broke up due to her sleeping with his best friend. It was hinted at that time that Tom S. was not that faithful himself. There was talk of an affair with a girl in Miami. Tom had befriended Ariana and began dating her shortly thereafter. Kristen believed that they had hooked up prior to being official. Ariana denied it, but something makes me think something did happen. She has been very coy recently, and seemed to throw a bit of shade at Tom at the reunion. 

    Flash forward to Season 10 and we have Tom S. cheating on Ariana with Raquel. In prior seasons, it seemed that the passion and love that Tom and Ariana had in earlier seasons had waned. They definitely came across more as friends. They didn't seem to want the same things. Ariana had said she wasn't interested in marriage or children; yet, Tom stayed in the relationship. I think he's one of those guys who doesn't like to dump girls, but likes to do things to cause them to dump him. I think there are two reasons why he did what he did. One, was he wanted to do something so Ariana would dump him. Two, he was going through a mid-life crisis; hence, blowing his money on starting a band. He was looking for validation anywhere and from anyone. Raquel is young and naive, while also desperate for attention. It was the perfect storm for an affair. Do I believe either of these folks are in love with each other? No! Was Tom S. manipulating Raquel? Hell yeah! Hopefully, Raquel can look back on this and realize it wasn't worth it. Tom only wanted to feed his ego with her youth, and her adoration. Now they both have come across as losers. 

    Recently, the relationship between Raquel and Tom ended. I don't think it was real. They were just feeding a void in both of their lives. I hope Raquel takes time to reflect before jumping into another relationship. Tom S. I hope will leave Vanderpump Rules, cause who can trust him or watch him F up another relationship?

Implications of interracial couples on TV

I noticed an interesting trend the other day on two of the shows I watch on the CW 90210 and Privileged. Both shows feature an interracial couple, one is straight the other is gay. One of the partners is African-American while the other is white. What disturbed me until last Tuesday (Feb. 10, 2009) was that neither couple was ever shown kissing on the lips. The camera would capture the kiss from a angle where you would see the back of someone's head. I found this annoying, because I've never seen this done. You always see at least the lips touching especially with straight couples. This had several implications for me. Was the censorship of these couples part of because we had a Republican administration in office at that time? Or could it be part of an even more disturbing implication that interracial relationship are on par with gay relationships. Oh boy, them Dodgers!

I know how all you Dodgers fans must feel. We're all disappointed they didn't make it to the playoffs. The only consolation is that there's always next season. I have to give some props to a few of the players. First, gotta hand it to Russell Martin. Love watching him play. He does a little bit of everything. He can do home runs, steal, get people out, and make amazing plays like almost falling into the dugout head first to catch a ball. He deserves all the awards he's gotten. I look forward to seeing him next year. Although he's at the top of my list for players I want to meet in person. Doesn't hurt that he dazzles these eyes! Second, Juan Pierre is a must keep. There's been a lot of talk about the younger players this season, but I don't think people should count out the vets. Juan Pierre is another player that I feel is exciting to watch. He stole 61 bases this year, and he is one of the hardest players to strike-out. So you can guarantee he will hit

One Line Slams

Bored out of my mind with nothing new to watch on TV, I rented some movies. I've decided to created a section called one line slams. Basically I give a one line description of what I thought sucked about the movie. Pirates of the Carribean: World's End This movie made me feel like the world was ending because it seemed like the movie would never end. Live Free or Die Hard CGI action sequences can't live up to the real thing. Rush Hour 3 You better rush and return without watching if you want to save a couple hours of your time.
